Revamped: InsCipher's New Surplus Lines Tax E-Filing Queue

At InsCipher, we constantly work to create efficiencies in the surplus lines tax filing process. "Batch Filing" is a feature unique to InsCipher Connect, empowering users to submit multiple policy filings to a specific state portal simultaneously via API. Through the original method, users manually assigned multiple filings to a batch and then submitted that batch to the state. With Connect's revamped E-Filing Queue, the system automatically creates and ships the batch when the user has finalized the filing and marked the filing as “ready to file” for states with an API submission option. For manual batch filing states that require an upload to the state site, the system will create the batch file and alert the Filing Agent for manual upload.

  • Improved Efficiency! You don’t need to spend your time manually creating your state batch submissions

  • Improved Accuracy! Validations built in to ensure batches are created and submitted as the state expects

  • You set your schedule! Customize your processing time frames based on your workflows

  • Improved Reporting! See what was processed, what experienced issues, and what manual batch files were generated that need to be uploaded to the state

The new e-filing queue is currently being tested with beta-users. All other InsCipher clients can expect a broad release in March of 2025. This feature can be disabled for users who prefer the original process of manual batch filing. If you are interested in becoming a beta-user, please email support@inscipher.com

InsCipher hopes this feature will empower users to file quicker and more compliantly than ever. We appreciate your support and feedback as we build solutions to drive the excess and surplus market forward.
